# Suno Codex Companion

Listen to Suno comparisons while using another tab or application, choose your own answer with a keyboard shortcut, and continue when the next comparison is ready.

This is an independent community tool. It is not an official Suno or OpenAI product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by either company. It does not use an AI model to judge music or generate ratings. Every submitted preference comes from your deliberate choice. Credits, task availability, and acceptance are controlled by Suno; this extension does not guarantee credits.

## What it does

- Connects to one Suno Listen & Rank tab, so switching to an unrelated tab does not redirect your answer.
- Plays A and then B until Suno's required listening indicators are complete.
- Waits for you to choose A, B, or Neither, using the side panel or your assigned shortcut.
- Submits that choice once and watches for the next comparison independently of Suno's dashboard counters.
- Handles a next comparison that Suno opens in the same dialog, including pairs with identical prompt text and fresh listening requirements.
- Keeps the session on while the next pair loads, then resumes when it is ready.
- Continues after you submit your own choice with Suno's Submit button during a session, without generating another choice or click.
- Shows Suno's reported completed-task, pending-credit, and processed-credit totals separately.
- Provides Start/Stop controls and status notifications.

## Install the direct download

This download is an unpacked extension package. It is **not currently a Chrome Web Store listing** and does not install itself.

1. Extract `suno-codex-companion-2.0.3.zip` into a folder you intend to keep.
2. In desktop Chrome, open `chrome://extensions`.
3. Turn on **Developer mode**.
4. Choose **Load unpacked**.
5. Select the extracted **suno-codex-companion** folder, the folder containing `manifest.json`.
6. Pin **Suno Codex Companion** from Chrome's extensions menu if you want easy access.

The manifest declares Chrome 116 or later. Installation and shortcut availability can depend on your browser and device configuration. Chrome documents this manual installation flow in its [extension tutorial](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/get-started/tutorial/hello-world).

## Use a listening session

1. Sign in to Suno normally and open [Listen & Rank](https://suno.com/listen-and-rank).
2. Click the extension's toolbar icon while that tab is selected, or open the panel and choose **Connect**.
3. Turn on the listening session. If Chrome blocks sound, click Play on the Suno page once, then start the session again.
4. Keep the Suno tab open and audible. You can switch to another tab or application while listening.
5. When both required listening periods finish, make your own choice using the panel or a configured answer shortcut.
6. The extension submits your choice once. It continues when the next available supported comparison is ready. If you use Suno's own Submit button during the session, it observes that submission and follows the same continuation process.

The requested default shortcuts are:

Chrome may leave a shortcut unassigned if it conflicts with another shortcut. Open `chrome://extensions/shortcuts`, assign the keys you want, and select **Global** where available. The side panel shows Chrome's actual assignments. An answer shortcut sends the answer immediately; there is no second confirmation step.

## Supported tasks and limits

Version 2.0.3 recognizes the single **Overall Sound** comparison with A, B, and Neither choices and these question wordings:

- “Which audio sounds better overall?”
- “Which version sounds better?”
- “Which song is better overall?”

Other task layouts are left for you to handle on Suno. The extension uses the page's ordinary controls and does not bypass listening requirements, task limits, account restrictions, or browser permission prompts. Use it in accordance with Suno's applicable terms and requirements.

After a submission, the session stays on while waiting for the next comparison or its audio to load. It recognizes a fresh pair without requiring the dashboard counter to update. If the old dialog closes and the enabled **Next Task** button appears, it opens that task once. Delayed loading does not trigger another submission. Use **Stop** whenever you want to cancel waiting or playback.

An unsupported question or layout, an actual playback failure, or leaving the listening page can still stop the session. Check the status and the Suno page before restarting. The displayed task and credit totals are Suno's own figures; they are not a confirmation that a particular answer was accepted or earned credits. A successful local test does not guarantee compatibility with future Suno page changes.

## Privacy and permissions

The extension handles the displayed comparison text, controls, listening state, credit counters, your selected answer, and the connected Suno tab identifier to provide this workflow. It keeps temporary state in the browser and sends your chosen answer through Suno's own page controls.

There is no extension analytics, advertising, publisher telemetry, audio capture, microphone access, password collection, or API-key requirement. Audio plays through Suno. No audio is recorded or sent to the extension's publisher, OpenAI, or an AI service.

The requested permissions are limited to showing the side panel, connecting the bundled page helper on Suno, retaining temporary session state, and showing status notifications. Read the [privacy policy](privacy-policy.md) for the precise data handling and retention details.

## Update or remove

This direct download has no automatic update service. To update manually, stop the session, replace the extracted extension files with a later release, **reload the extension first, then refresh the Suno tab** before connecting again. The panel header should show **2.0.3** for this release. Keep the selected extension folder in place while using it.

If the panel asks you to **Refresh your Suno tab to finish updating**, the tab still has an older page helper. Refresh it before starting or answering. Those actions stay blocked until the update is complete; **Stop** remains available.

To stop a session, use the panel switch or Start/Stop shortcut. To remove the extension, use **Remove** on its Chrome extensions page. Stopping the session does not undo a preference already submitted to Suno.

## Validation and release status

Version 2.0.3 passed **65 of 65 local browser fixture checks** and **17 of 17 mocked extension-worker checks**. These development checks use simulated page/media state and mocked Chrome APIs; they do not promise live answer acceptance, credit awards, or Chrome Web Store approval.

Public publisher contact, a support address, and Chrome Web Store publication are still pending. No store approval or official affiliation is claimed. Use the distributor from whom you obtained this package for release-specific questions until a public support contact is supplied.

## Package contents

The direct-download archive contains the `suno-codex-companion/` runtime folder and this README and privacy policy. `webstore-upload-2.0.3.zip` is a separate publisher upload archive with `manifest.json` at its root. It is not an installer.
